About The Workshop

Join the Bad Academy, the Feelosophy, and SELFCARE TO for a special 3-part workshop series on the mental + physical effects on our bodies during in a time of Covid. We are nearing the one year mark of this global pandemic and for most of us, we have seen the negative effects whether it's socially, mentally, physically, or all of the above. We're partnering with the experts at Feelosophy and SELFCARE TO to bring you a workshop series that aims to bring awareness, relief, and care to your bodies and minds. We all struggle with our day-to-day but what is the science behind physical distancing? How can we self touch to sooth our brains and bodies? How can we support ourselves, but our communities as well? Get ready for some true healing <3

Part 1 - Anxiety and Grief - What is the science behind the feelings? How does it manifest in our bodies? (1.5 hours)

Part 2 - Self Touch - A workshop focused in soothing self-touch, how it works, and how you can make it a daily practice. (1.5 hours)

Part 3 - Self Care - Speaking on the practice of self-care and community care. (1.5 hours)

About The Instructor(s)

Chantée Dardaine is from Toronto, ON. She works as a Registered Psychotherapist ( Qualifying ) with the CRPO providing support and emotional growth to individuals from all walks of life. She offers individual services to meet the diverse needs of people utilizing culturally adapted interventions. Chantée founded SELFCARE TO, a wellness organization offering diverse tools, self care products and support on how to take care of your whole-self. Chantée is passionate about helping people learn how to tolerate difficult emotions so that they can enjoy a positive and fulfilling life. Outside of therapy she loves to travel, cook, practice yoga and spend time with her dog!

Ashley is the Founder of The Feelosophy, where she aims to provide a space to feel, offering virtual therapy (under supervision), advocating for touch education through workshops, and highlighting somatic and movement practices. Ashley has lead yoga teacher training and retreats for the past 8 years and is transitioning into psychotherapy, with a focus on mindfulness. Pre covid, travel and small venues with local music were her jam, but now she fills her time trying to make jam, rewatching Schitts Creek, or attempting an at-home workout, before realizing she should probably vacuum under the couch.
