About The Workshop

Bad Summer Camp 2025

August 22-24, 2025

Bad Summer Camp is back and it's going to be bigger and Badder than ever!

Here in the Pacific Northwest, we have a short window of time to truly soak up as much sun as possible and live our best Bad Girl Summer. It’s not so easy to say YOLO when it comes to making grand plans for travel anymore (in this economy?!), so why not consider running off into the local forests with a bunch of like-minded Baddies? Those of us lucky enough to enjoy this corner of the world know that there is so much beauty to experience even in our own backyards and we don’t have to take plane to get there!

We're so excited to announce that The Bad Academy is bringing Bad Summer Camp back this summer so you can have the dreamiest weekend your lil’ hearts could desire just a hop, jump, and skip (on the ferry) away! We’re hitting the road (or the ocean rather) and taking over the Sunshine Coast for a weekend filled with new friends, old friends, workshops, relaxation, and community (and so many s'mores you might puke)!

If you’ve been craving a low-key getaway where you can relax, reconnect with the land and friends, and most of all, have SO MUCH fun, this is the camp for you!

Ready to join? Keeping reading, cutie!

Camp Location

The Stonewater

Where nature, relaxation & creativity meet

Tucked into the southwest corner of mainland BC, the Sunshine Coast is the best-kept secret of the province. With a vibrant community, epic mountains, and a coastline stretching 180 km. The Stonewater was designed so you can enjoy the great outdoors, relax, connect with yourself and let your creativity flow. Our Campers will have exclusive use of this amazing property, including unlimited use of the outdoor circuit spa, a newly built in-door community programming space, and a fire pit area for s'more crafting and ghost stories.

The Stonewater

Update: We are sold out of rooms and campsites at the Stonewater! You are welcome to book another hotel or airbnb close by, or email us to see if there is anyone wanting to bunk up :) Thank you!

If you're a solo Bad Camper who wants to bunk up with a new pal, email us and we'll play matchmaker!

Check out what rooms are available via this link. Limited space (and variety) available, so book sooner than later! Update: We will likely run out of room on campus by the time Early Bird registration ends!

FAQ

Who is this camp for?

Women and gender-non-conforming people! Last year more than half of our campers came by themselves (without friends) and left with many friends :) Invite your besties, or don't! All are welcome!

I want to come solo! Is that okay?

Yes absolutely! You'll be in good company and we're confident you'll make fast friends with our Bad crew :) If you want to try and share a room with a new friend to save some cash, email us and we'll try our best to play matchmaker!

Can I come with friends?

Of course! Coordinate within your crew about room sharing, rides, etc :)

Do we have to participate in all the activities?

A friend of ours uses the phrase "Body's choice" - you are welcome to participate or not participate as much or as little as you'd like! We're here to support you and make sure you're comfortable. Whatever feels right to you :) No judgement or pressure - This is your time!

Do we have to stay at The Stonewater?

Nope! You can totally stay off site :) In fact, we are sold out of spots at the Stonewater, so please see theinformation above about alternative accommodations :)

The Stonewater allows dogs. Are we allowed to bring our dogs?

YES. Doggos are allowed! However, you are totally responsible for your furry pal and making sure that other campers are comfortable and safe. Please note that other dogs might be present, so dogs that are reactive, high-energy, or are not well-trained might have a difficult time hanging around camp. Please reach out to us if you have specific questions, and if you're staying at the Stonewater, you will need to pay an extra fee for your companion!

I'm not coming from Vancouver - is that okay?

Yes! Non-locals are totally welcome :)

Can we arrive early and/or stay late at the Stonewater?

Absolutely. If you want to stay at The Stonewater, please contact them for longer stays. Otherwise, feel free to make other plans to explore the Coast (there's so much to see!) outside of camp!

What do we need to bring?

Anything you need to be comfortable as well as food for the weekend! Pack warm clothes for the night, a yoga mat, sun protection, and a swimsuit. We'll be sure to send you a packing checklist ahead of camp! The Stonewater can answer questions about what they have on site with our accommodations, but anything you'd expect in a motel (and more!) will be available.

What's the food situation?

Each room at The Stonewater is conveniently equipped with a full kitchen, so feel free to bring food to make, heat-up, or snack on! We will have unlimited drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) available as well as a selection of snacks :) We'll be sure to provide you with a list of local restaurants if you want to go off campus. S'mores and unlimited alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks included with your admission!

What if it rains?

Ah yes. We are unfortunately beholden to the weather goddesses here in the PNW, but don't fret! We have a plan! We will have plenty of tents as well as access to a covered indoor programming space big enough for all of us!

What if I don't have a car?

Once you join camp, you'll be added to a whatsapp group with all the campers and we'll find you a ride! If you want to walk onto the ferry (take the bus to the ferry terminal, ride the ferry, and then we can meet you on the other side in Langdale and pick you up. However, you will need to be flexible when it comes to our schedule of shuttling people to and from the ferry. If you are on a specific schedule, it's best if you don't depend on us too heavily for transportation. Please email us if you have more questions, but rest assured, we won't leave you behind!

I 'm a person with a disability and I have questions about how I can be accommodated.

We're totally available to answer your questions! Slide into our DM's or email us at hello@thebadacademy.com

Do you need volunteers?

We have a Bad crew assembled already, but thank you!

Do you need instructors?

We have openings for more workshop and activity instructors, so please email us at hello@thebadacademy.com

I have an organization/company that would like to contribute to the Bad Camp Kit or some of the activities. How can we reach you?

Email us at hello@thebadacademy.com

What is the cancellation policy?

We unfortunately cannot offer refunds, but you are able to transfer your ticket at any time to a friend! Email us at hello@thebadacademy.com to coordinate.
