We're so excited to be restarting our education workshops for Bad Climbers club with a couple of highly requested topics from you!

Details:

  • Each workshop will run approximately 90 minutes
  • They will be recorded if you can't make them live on Zoom
  • There will be an opportunity to ask lots of questions!
  • You are able to purchase individual workshops, but buy both in the series and it's a deal!

Injury Prevention 101

Let's keep you climbing and keep you strong!

Navigating personal sports-related injuries and setbacks for over 25 years, Kinley has learned not only how to come back from the sidelines but also has that hindsight 20/20 vision; an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. Yes, many injuries are due to bad luck but many can be avoided through an integrated approach to self-care and injury prevention. Simple habits create big results. We will cover topics such as how to warm up, nutrition, tactics while climbing and how to increase strength and mobility. This clinic will offer up concrete ways to prevent injury and bulletproof your body for years to come.

Climbing Gear 101

Where to begin?! We'll show you!

It can be easy to get lost in the details. Stepping into a gear shop sometimes feels like being a crow in a jewel shop, with shiny things everywhere! Kinley will explain the different styles of climbing and the gear that each uses, separating the 'need to know' from the 'does not matter'! From personal equipment; shoes, harnesses, and helmets, technical gear such as carabiners, ropes, belay devices, crash pads, trad gear, quickdraws and ... what's an "Ohm"? What does 'breaking' strength mean? How strong is this stuff? How to take care of and when to retire your gear? SO many questions and SO many answers. We'll get into it!
