About The Workshop

Worth It: A workshop series on alignment and confidence in career and life

Thursdays at 6p // March 2026 @ The Vessel (Railtown, 49 Dunlevy Ave)

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves at a crossroads when it comes to career, business, or even just life. Maybe we feel stuck and stagnant. Maybe we are unhappy. But maybe we are just "fine" with where we are, but there's an unshakeable feeling that there must be more and that we are capable of so much more. It is something many of us experience and it's difficult to know where to start when it comes to finding more direction and confidence in your work and life.

Introducing The Worth It series. This series is designed with you in mind, because, as it turns out, many of us feel this way. The Bad Academy prides itself on being plugged into the community (we're obviously obsessed with you), having real conversations with real women everyday about their daily lives and work. No gimmicks. No cringey TikTok advice. No bullshit.

Do you find yourself needing more direction when it comes to creating a life that is more aligned with your values? Are you at a moment in your career where you're feeling a pull towards something else? Are you maybe just getting started (or want to) with a new career/life and just need more confidence to make it happen? Through the powerful Bad network, we've assembled a team of expert women to witness your experiences, teach you how to centre your life around yourself and what matters to you, and move through the world with more direction, confidence, and, of course, skills. Let us help you find the path forward and learn that you are totally worth it.

The Series

Every week we will meet at The Vessel for a 2-hour session where we'll have the time to get to work and teach you a skill that will then build on the previous week. Can't make it to all of the sessions? No problem! We will be recording each session for those that cannot make it.

Week 1: Value Mapping

with Makenzie Chilton, Director of Coaching at Arcora and the Founder of Love Your Mondays

March 5th, 2026 at 6PM (will be recorded)

We will open the series with a workshop on Values Mapping with self-described psych nerd Makenzie Chilton where we cut the fluff and figure out what actually matters to you. This is the foundation for making decisions that feel right in your gut, not just good on paper. You’ll uncover your core values and learn how to use them as your personal compass so you stop chasing goals that look impressive but leave you exhausted. This isn’t a vision board moment (although we love a visionboard tbh). It’s a get-clear, get-aligned, start-living-like-you-mean-it moment. Because the life you want? It’s built in the small, daily choices. And once you know your values, you stop drifting, and start choosing on purpose.

Week 2: Connection via Communication

with TEDx speaker, Best-Selling Author, and Communications Expert Sandy Gerber

March 12th, 2026 at 6PM (will be recorded)

Come learn how to actually say what you mean. It's one thing to know yourself, but it is another thing to know how to effectively communicate your needs and wants to others. Join award-winning Emotional Intelligence Speaker Sandy Gerber for an exciting and real workshop designed to help you confidently connect with anyone, anywhere. You will learn how to use simple body language signals to build trust quickly, regulate your emotions in the moment, express yourself clearly without over-explaining, and handle awkward or heated conversations with confidence. This is practical communication for real life, whether that is work, dating, friendships, or walking into a room where you know no one! No more wondering in the shower about what you could have said instead - this is where you learn to connect in real time.

In addition to an interactive 2-hour workshop, this workshop also includes an extensive 20-page workbook to take home and use! Journal nerds rejoice!

Week 3: Negotiation 101

with Rosemarie Perkin, negotiations facilitator and consultant

March 19th, 2026 at 6PM (will be recorded)

Does even the thought of negotiating make your palms sweaty? Is it difficult for you to ask for what you actually want at your job or in life, or are you unsure of what to even ask for? Girl. Same. Negotiation is hard and on top of the everyday pressures of life, it's difficult to know how and what to ask for especially when you're put on the spot. In this workshop we will focus on building your confidence when asking for what you want while building, not damaging, your reputation. You'll learn why negotiating matters when the system isn't neutral and practice strategies for successfully negotiating salary, job offers, flexibility, budget requests, and more. The Bad Academy has run this workshop before, but this is the first time we're getting RoseMarie in-person to share her passion for women getting what they want - hell yeah!

Week 4: Personal Brand

with Makenzie Chilton, Director of Coaching at Arcora and the Founder of Love Your Mondays

March 26th, 2026 at 6PM (will be recorded)

Here's your full-circle moment! This is where we stop playing small and start owning what makes you powerful. This isn’t about picking a cute colour palette or writing a bio that sounds like everyone else. It’s about getting crystal clear on who you are, what you stand for, and how you want to be known, then learning how to communicate that with confidence. We will take what you've learned for the past 4 weeks, and really put it down on paper. You’ll define your voice, your message, and your edge so you’re not just “another option” ... you’re the obvious choice. Because your personal brand isn’t a logo or where you work. It’s your reputation, your presence, and the story people tell about you when you’re not in the room. Let’s make sure it’s intentional.

To close out the series and celebrate, we'll be providing food and drink at this session! Cheers!

The Value

We know that there are many programs out there that promise clarity and direction, but we really believe in the intention of this series. The mission of Bad Academy has always been to support women and GNC people by offering options and information that is vetted and created by women who align with our values as an organization. We turn away from gimmicks. We appreciate directness. We don't waste your time because we know it's precious and we truly believe in the power of listening and community.

That being said, this series has been 3 years in the making and is very special. We have had countless conversations with the Bad community whether it's casually at one of our other workshops, in more formal interviews, or in our inbox with numerous inquiries asking for something like this series. You asked, we listened. Each of the instructors participating care deeply about helping and have collaboratively worked with Bad Academy to create this curriculum that hopefully speaks to you. This series is here for you to take the opportunity to take action, stay accountable, and finally make a change.

We are offering this series at an accessible price of only $55 per workshop, and therefore $220 total because we know how difficult it can be to be in a transition period in your life. We've been advised to charge more for this caliber of content. We decided against it. We don't want to because we know how much this will help our community and we don't want to exclude people in a tough financial spot. Your admission will go to supporting our community and incredible instructors who work hard to teach their passion.

If you are still unable to make the price of the series work, please reach out to hello@thebadacademy.com to inquire about our community waitlist.

The Classroom

We are so thrilled to be hosting Worth It at The Vessel, a gorgeous co-working space in Railtown focused on social impact and in support of women entrepreneurs. Talk about alignment... even our venue is aligned! <3

Vessel Designs redefines the concept of a venture studio by placing social impact at the core of their mission. Unlike traditional venture studios that prioritize high returns and technology-oriented investments, they strive to create a diverse ecosystem that fosters collaboration and support for women entrepreneurs. FAQ

Who is this workshop series for?

Women and GNC people who feel like they not only need more direction in their life/career, but also tools and skills to get them there. If you feel like you're ready to dive into what really matters to you and get real about how to get what you want, this is the time! In preparation for the series, we will send you a short intake form to get a better idea of where you are now and what you are looking for out of the series. We can't wait to meet you!

What is the capacity of this workshop series?

We are limiting the number of seats to 25 women and GNC people to make sure we can give everyone focused attention and maintain an intimate environment where we can get to know each other and feel comfortable sharing our experiences and thoughts.

What if I can't make it to all of the sessions?

No sweat. Although we recommend attending this series in person to get the full experience, we are recording each session in case life gets in the way! You will have access to the sessions within 24 hours and can watch/rewatch throughout the 4 weeks. Please let us know if you will require recordings in the "notes" section at checkout.

What if I only want to attend a one or two of these workshops?

We hear you. Maybe only one or two workshops in the series speak to you! But honestly, we really believe you'll find value in all of them and we've designed the curriculum so that it flows week to week, the previous session(s) informing the next. We want you to build on your skills as you spend time with us learning in the classroom! Worth It is designed to be experienced as series because, well, you're worth it! Change doesn't happen overnight and we are serious about delivering quality and effective curriculum. Plus, because we are recording these sessions, you'll have the flexibility to attend in-person or not! We're committed and we hope you will too.

What materials are needed?

Something to take notes with would be great, but we can also provide you with writing materials if needed! Don't forget a water bottle and maybe a snack/dinner to keep you powered throughout class! Light refreshments will be offered at the end of the series and maybe we'll all go out for a drink ;)

Will you run this series again?

We hope so! We often create programming based on what our community asks for and we have been working hard to design Worth It as a response. If demand is high and we feel like it is sustainable to keep running, we will do it. Feel free to email us at hello@thebadacademy.com if you have thoughts about this!

Can I attend if I don't have a clear career path right now?

Absolutely. Please join us because we know what that feels like and we want to help!

Will there be time to socialize and meet new people?

We love a community moment, but we very much value your time and the time of our instructors. The 2 hours for each class will be packed with information and learning, but before, after, and outside of class, we encourage you to chat and keep in touch! We know Amanda (our founder) will be in attendance and will want to grab a drink afterwards if anyone else would be interested! We believe connections will be made naturally throughout the series and we can't wait to meet you :)

I have more questions! Who do I ask?

Feel free to email us (Amanda) at hello@thebadacademy.com

Refund Policy: Tickets are transferable, but unfortunately not refundable at The Bad Academy. We're a crazy small organization and operate on razor-thin margins, and as much as we'd like to account for life getting in the way, we have been burned too many times by no-shows, and last-minute refund requests etc. If you'd like to transfer your ticket to a friend, please email us at hello@thebadacademy.com with the name and email of the person taking your place, and we'll make sure to make the appropriate changes!
