Podcasting 101

This just in! Your podcast idea is dope. Time to make it a reality.

About The Workshop

You have always secretly wanted to start your own podcast, but, like many of us, don't know where to start. We've recruited some of Vancouver's best and brightest podcasting experts to bring you Podcasting 101!

In this workshop, you'll learn all the basics of how to successfully conceptualize, execute, and produce your own podcast. We'll give you the inside scoop to all the best tools and leave plenty of time for you to ask a million questions!

Note: This workshop will not be technical (aka showing you how to work a soundboard etc.), but we have plans to do a more advance workshop in the future!

Originally recorded on: November 15, 2020

Max Collins

Max Collins is an award-winning Calgary-born producer and podcaster based out of Vancouver, BC, Canada. During her first five years in radio, she's had a hand in the production of over a dozen podcast series, including the independently-produced investigative series, Dragged Out. Her background in campus and community radio gives her a unique perspective on storytelling, while also having experience with high-quality, commercial audio production. With a focus on queer, grassroots topics, Max is a champion for campus/community radio and DIY podcasting, and she knows a thing or two about how to make a home-made podcast sound like it was made by a pro. Credits include projects with CBC Radio, Anna Faris Is Unqualified, Supercast, and more.

Lilian Umurungi-Jung

Lilian Umurungi-Jung is the owner and founder of MUMGRY. One day while grocery shopping hungry and pregnant, she noticed a lack of snacks that took into consideration the dietary restrictions and specific needs of women during pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and beyond. Reading labels and deciphering if snacks were good or bad was time consuming and took all the fun out of eating for 2! With a strong craving for peanut butter she decided that nuts would be the main focus and created MUMGRY natural nut butters in three varieties: smooth peanut butter, dark chocolate peanut butter and the first-ever pistachio chocolate almond butter, all made using no added sugar, palm oil or additives - only the good stuff! MUMGRY is for everyone and removes the guess work from snacking.

She started her own podcast, The Mumgry Podcast, where she spills the tea on motherhood and shares what’s worthy of your precious time on the gram and Netflix.
