Breathe new life into your ripped or torn clothes through Sashiko mending! Sashiko is a Japanese form of repair and translates directly as "little stabs". Through this hands-on workshop we will teach you how to turn a rip or hole into fun pops of colour using sashiko mending hand-sewing techniques. A new hobby that's fun, pretty, AND good for the environment?! YES PLEASE.

In true Bad Academy tradition, beginners are encouraged, and all materials will be provided :)

About The Instructor(s)

Alex (she/her) is a passionate stitcher with a deep love for embroidery, which she has been practicing since 2015. She began her creative journey by crafting intricate pet portraits, but eventually her passion for such labour-intensive stitchwork fell to the wayside. In the past few years she has developed a passion for sustainability; this newfound passion for the environment naturally led her to the art of mending. Alex is excited by the unique blend of self-expression and sustainability that visible mending offers, and she’s eager to inspire you to not only extend the life of your clothes but to transform them into something even more meaningful and cherished!
